How We Test
Every batch we sell passes through high-performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry before it ships. No exceptions. No "trusted-supplier" exemptions. No batch-skipping.
Testing happens inside the same U.S. facility that synthesizes the compound. The chromatogram, the mass-spec output, and the lot-traceability log are generated and stored on-site. When you request a Certificate of Analysis, that's what you're getting, the actual documentation, not a marketing summary.
HPLC Purity Verification
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) separates a compound from its impurities by passing it through a column at high pressure. The output, the chromatogram, is a graph showing peaks for the target compound and any contaminants present.
We measure the area under the target peak as a percentage of total peak area. Our minimum acceptance threshold is 99%. Any lot that falls below is reprocessed or discarded. Most of our lots run above 99.5%.
HPLC is the foundational purity test in peptide manufacturing. If a supplier can't show you the chromatogram, they don't have one.
Mass Spectrometry
Mass spectrometry confirms the molecular identity of the compound. HPLC tells you how pure the target compound is; mass spec tells you whether the target compound is what it's supposed to be.
We use mass spectrometry to verify the molecular weight of every lot against the expected value. A peptide can be 99.9% pure and still be the wrong peptide. Mass spec eliminates that risk.
Certificate of Analysis (COA)
Every lot we sell has a Certificate of Analysis on file. The COA includes:
- Product name and lot number
- Synthesis date and U.S. facility identifier
- HPLC purity percentage
- Mass spectrometry confirmation
- Appearance, solubility, and storage notes
- Authorized signature
To request a COA, email hello@americanmadepeps.com with the product and lot number. We respond same business day.
Institutional accounts: if your lab requires COAs on every shipment, we can configure your account to attach the current-lot COA automatically to every order confirmation. Contact us to enable.
Third-Party Testing
For qualified institutional accounts, we will ship a sample of any lot to an independent third-party lab of your choice for parallel analysis at our expense. This is a standing offer; we do not require justification.
Independent testing is the strongest possible confirmation of identity and purity. We support it because we have nothing to hide and an incentive to keep proving it.
Lot Traceability
Every vial we ship carries a lot number printed on the label. That lot number ties back to:
- The synthesis batch and date
- The HPLC and mass-spec reports for that batch
- The amino-acid raw-material lot used in synthesis
- The lyophilization run
- The fill, seal, and packaging records
If a question ever arises about a specific vial, we can reconstruct the entire chain of custody from the lot number in under 24 hours. Most peptide suppliers cannot.
